Fall Planting Day Enhances Campus

New trees, shrubs, flowering plants and cacti now refresh the landscape all around the church campus, thanks to the efforts of volunteer gardeners, donors and members of the Ministry of Physical Resources, led by Patty Warren. The Fall Planting Day was held Saturday, October 27, after the installation of a new irrigation system for semi-arid gardening was completed. By Sunday morning, butterflies had found the new mini-gardens.

Wild Burro Hike Oct.20

These are the pictures from our hike on Oct. 20 on the Wild Burro and Lower Javelina Trails in the Tortilita Mountains. Included is a group picture, rest stop for snacks, hiking on the Lower Javelina Trail, and views from the Lower Javelina Trail of the mountains and the Ritz Carlton resort where we started our hike.

September Bike Ride 2012

Rillito/Santa Cruz River Trail Bike Ride - September 8 2012

It's time for a raspado (Mexican sno-cone)! This ride was an easy, flat ride that followed bike trails. Option 1 began at the Rillito River Park at the southwest corner of Camino de la Tierra and the Rillito River and was 20.0 miles in length. Option 2 began at the new park at the southeast corner of Silverbell Rd. and El Camino del Cerro and is 14.5 miles long. Those who rode option 1 started at 7:30 am and meet the option 2 riders at 7:45 am. There was an opportunity to enjoy a raspado at Sonoran Delights at the turn around point at Congress St.

August Church Hike

The church hiking group made their August hike on the top of Mt. Lemmon. They took and easy 1.6 mile loop on the Meadow Trail. They took several side hikes to interesting views and were able to see many wild flowers, results after a forest fire and many other sites. You are welcome to join them.
