Gift to the Yarnell Fire Department

The congregations of Casas Adobes UCC in Tucson and the United Church at Santa Fe generously contributed funds to be used for the recovery at Yarnell. After much deliberation and fact finding, it was determined that the funds would be given to assist the Yarnell Fire Department. They are being impacted by the greatly reduced property taxes, due to the many houses that were destroyed.

When we learned that they could not use their Jaws of Life until it was completely overhauled, we decided to invest our donations toward this project. On March 13, a group from First Congregational-United Church of Christ went to Yarnell to check out the refurbished extrication unit.

Christmas Play

Children and youth re-enacted the Nativity Story on Sunday, December 15, as they presented their annual Christmas play to an appreciative congregation. They were ably assisted by a production team of parents and Christian Formation staff. Photos by David Huisjen.

Advent Fest 2013

On December 1, 2013 our Advent Fest included a wassail bowl, angel tree, sale of fair trade items that benefit charities that our church sponsors, a lunch meal, and craft activities for children.  The photographs below tell the story.  It was a well-attended and joyful event.
