On October 2nd, Needlework for Nogales Children (N4NC) sponsored a Fiesta - "A Day At HEPAC" in our McNear Hall. Our friends from HEPAC, Hogar de Esperanza y Paz (Home of Hope and Peace), drove up from Nogales to participate in the festivities. They demonstrated their sewing and crocheting skills and sold their hand-crafted products. The women recently completed 90 hrs of an advanced sewing course. The final project was a beautiful quinceanera dress made by the group, which was on display at the Fiesta.
We also enjoyed music by Reverend Tito, who led a Spanish/English sing-a-long and Stephen Leonard entertained all on his classical guitar.
The ladies of N4NC prepared a delicious tostado bar, with corn tortillas, refried beans, and all the fixins'.
It was a wonderful day!
